| Passages' Endowment Fund Endowment funds are like blocks of granite. They last. And last. And one way you can extend your influence into the future is to carve your name into the Passages to the Future Endowment Fund. Gifts made to the Passages to the Future Endowment are never spent. Instead, the contributions are invested. The money earned from interest and dividends is then available to help Passages meet special needs as they arise. Gifts to the Passages to the Future Endowment Fund can be established now, during your lifetime. You can use cash, securities, real estate – almost anything of value. Or you can arrange for the endowment to be remembered through your will as a part of your legacy. All contributions are tax deductible. A few planned giving tools exist that actually create a stream of income for donors throughout their lifetimes and benefit Passages at the time of their death. To find out more about the Passages to the Future Endowment Fund, contact the Whitley County Community Foundation at (260) 244-5224. “We had a client who passed away unexpectedly. Unfortunately, he didn't’t have any family and there was no one to provide funeral services. Obviously, this isn't’t the type of thing Passages budgets for. Thankfully, we were able to turn to our endowment and provide our longtime friend with a burial he deserved,” explained Kay Fleck, Passages President. Generations from now, Passages’ clients will continue to benefit from your foresight and generosity. A gift to an endowment is a way of saying that you care about the work being carried out at Passages and the organization’s mission and that you’d like to see it continued into the future.
